Youth events for December
During this blessed month of December we await and celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in this longing that our hearts become open to the newness that reaches out to embrace us as church, family, and community. On Dec. 3rd @ 7:30 the Confirmation group will meet at the JHPB. Please remember to bring your books. On Dec 5th we will meet for Adoration @ 10:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with Jesus during the Advent season. On Dec. 8th the RCIT (Rite of Christian Initiation for Teens) will meet in Debbie’s office from 3:30-6:00. Please remember to bring your books. On Dec. 10th “The Theology of the Body” small group will meet in Debbie’s office from 6:00-8:00. Pizza will be served at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting will follow. All High School teens are invited. On Dec. 17th the Jr. High and High School youth are invited to a night of caroling, food and gifts. We will meet at St. Mary’s Parking lot @ 5:00 p.m. to begin caroling. Please remember to dress warm. At 6:30 we will meet at the Coffee Mill for food and a white elephant gift exchange. (All gifts must be wrapped and can be anything, the crazier the better) Call me if you have questions. On Dec. 20th all High School youth are invited to help decorate the float for the Light Parade. Please bring a string of lights. We have not determined the place yet but I will let you know. WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP! All High School youth who are participating in the Light Parade need to meet downtown @ 3:30 p.m. sharp. On Dec. 22nd the RCIT group will meet in Debbie’s office from 3:30-6:00. Please bring your books. Dec 27th all High School and College youth are invited to St. Mary’s Church for the youth mass. We will celebrate with pizza and pop in the Sacred Heart room in the back of Church following the mass. It’s always exciting to come together as church and share our stories! ON January 2nd the youth will be sponsoring the Alumni Game at Prairie Middle School. The women’s game will begin @ 6:00 p.m. and the men’s game will follow. We will have a 3-point contest, free throw contest and more. Concessions will also be available. Please mark your calendars, dust off your tennis shoes and join us for a night of family fun. All proceeds go toward the next mission trip to Tijuana in 2010. We really appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you! Thank you for a wonderful year. Your love and support have made a real difference for the whole youth ministry process. May God bless you all abundantly during this month and into the next year. Have a wonderful Christmas and remember to embrace the newness every day and in every way for it is here Christ is born not only in the world but in our hearts.
