Five signs have been erected at the following locations: Downtown Cottonwood (near the fire station), Broadway & South 2nd, Idaho Street, Graves Creek Road at the intersection with Twin House Road, and at the river where the road forks. The team wants to give special recognition and thanks to both Roy Uhlenkott and Jack Duman for helping above and beyond what most of us consider their fair share. It was truly a community effort. The rest of the Prairie Horizon teams and community members want to celebrate with and thank the Welcome to the Prairie Action Team along with the City of Cottonwood for their resolve in following through with this project. Great job everyone! Congratulations and many thanks! The Welcome to the Prairie Action Team’s next project is building a Community Bulletin Board that will keep everyone up to date on what is happening in and around the area. Other happenings from the Prairie Horizons Intergenerational Action Group include the moving forward on the grant process for renovating the Community Center. The next step required – to conduct a door-to-door survey of local residents of Cottonwood. This was accomplished by volunteers Chinh Le, Shelli Schumacher, Colleen Wilson, and Aleta Coppernoll. A very big THANK YOU to each community participant and also to the volunteers for their time and effort. Please note there will be a combined meeting of the Horizons Steering Committee and all action teams on Tuesday, January 13th at 7:00 PM at the Community Center’s multi-purpose room. Mark your calendars please and plan to attend this important meeting. |
