Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle:

TO THE EDITOR
To all our family, friends, customers & neighbors,
As the year 2008 draws to a close we reflect back on the blessings and trials, the laughter and tears, and giving us a chance to be thankful for all of you.  The little “miracle baby,” Rachael Ann Schumacher, daughter of Beth & Adam has celebrated her first birthday, and is preparing to crawl.  God has something very special in mind for her, as she has defied all odds of survival.  The summer produced some bountiful gardens and fruit, with autumn displaying it’s array of fantastic colors.  Now as the Christmas season approaches, it ascends with mixed feelings.  Some of us have lost a close loved one this past year, so it leaves an empty place in our hearts and in our homes.  Along with several of my sisters, we attended memorial services, in memory of our mother, at the Monastery of St. Gertrude’s and at the Festival of Trees in Lewiston.  Pastor Bill Creutzberg from Clarkston gave a most impressive talk on “What Love Is.”  He told numerous short stories on four – eight year olds version of “what’s love.”  The story that captured my heart, and brought moisture to my eyes was the following.  An old man, who had just lost his wife, sat in a chair on his porch, with tears dripping down his cheeks.  His 4 year-old neighbor boy noticed him there, sad and alone.  The boy told his mother he was going to go over and visit him.  So the little lad crawled up on the old man’s lap.  After awhile he returned back home, and the mother asked, “What did you say to him?”  “Nothing,” the boy replied, “I just cried with him.”
Merry Christmas everyone,

TO THE EDITOR
There are so many good people in the city of Cottonwood.  After living here 13 years I consider myself part of this community.
I truly thank those of you who wrote and thanked me for my last letter to the editor...
There are many good churches in this little village.  Was just wondering why good religious people would threaten others?  Is this what is taught in our bible?  I cannot find these words in mine.
Enough said.  Merry Christmas everyone.
