Booster Club Displays New Banners
During the Christmas break, the new state banners were hung in the Prairie High School gym. The team banners contain the names of the coaches and team members for each state championship. The other banners consist of the names of the individual or event athletes or participants. The red banners will continue to be displayed in a new trophy case behind the state trophies. The twenty-three banners include seven girl's basketball, three girl's track, two softball, three individual track, and a baseball, football, boy's basketball, wrestling, Health Occupation Students of America, INEL Scholastic Bowl, debate and Technology Students Association. A special thank you to Steve Lamont, Mike Nau, Robert Nida, Roy Uhlenkott and Kurt Riener for all of their hard work and time in putting up the banners. Thank you to all the businesses and groups for sponsoring the banners. After this coming school year, there will be a need to create two more banners, another Technology Student Association and individual Track and Field. If you are interested in sponsoring either one of these banners for $125, please contact Loretta Riener at 962-5938.

From left are the 1977 girls basketball, 1977 girls track, 1978 girls basketball, 1978 girls track, 1981 girls basketball, 1982 girls basketball, 1982 boys basketball, 1987 girls basketball; 1992 girls baskketball; 1997 girls basketball, 2006 baseball and 2007 softball. The 2008 softball and 2008 football banners are on the south wall.
