Pirates lose to Lapwai
Lapwai swept the season series over the Prairie Lady Pirates, winning the league contest 39-60 at Cottonwood Thursday, Jan. 15. Prairie kept it close in the first quarter as they trailed just 10-12 at the end of the period. Lapwai pulled away to a 17-25 halftime lead and really put the game away with a 6-19 third quarter. Megan Sigler and Amber Holthaus were Prairie’s leading scorers with 8 points each. Kaylee Uhlenkott and Kara Guyer added 7 points each while Mary Shears scored 4, Jennifer Enneking 3 and NaTosha Schaeffer 2. With the loss Prairie drops to 2-3 in league play and 8-6 overall. The JV game was much closer but Lapwai won that as well 55-57.
