donate blood
Every year millions of Americans give one or more pints of blood to benefit people they’ve never met. 95 of your local friends and neighbors joined that elite group on January 20 at the last Red Cross blood drive in Cottonwood. Many thanks to all the faithful donors who make this blood drive so successful. According the Red Cross coordinator the Cottonwood Blood Drive is one of the biggest in the area. The Red Cross employees also commented on how much they enjoy coming to Cottonwood, “we are treated so well here and everyone is so nice, and of course we love the maple bars”. 6 gallon pins were awarded to Laurine Nightingale, Gladys Sonnen and Mark Tacke and a 1 gallon pin was awarded to Roger Kaschmitter. A special thanks to the first time donors; Lynette Rehder, Chase Nuxoll, Eric Daly, Jack George, Tyler Forsmann and Leona Marie. Thanks to all who kept their appointments and to all who were unable to make appointments but came anyway. We understand why some of you were unable to keep your appointments but rest assured you will be contacted for the next blood drive which is scheduled for May 5th. A very special thanks to our volunteers who helped to make this blood drive successful; Marlene Jungert, Elaine Schumacher, Merna Gehring, Eleanore Hinkelman, Helen Huntley, Audrey Uhlenkott, Dolores VonBargen, Connie Uhlenkott, Doris Sonnen and Bobbie Schmidt. And a very special thanks to the HOSA students from Prairie High School, your help was so very much appreciated! Also a thank you goes to Joe Riener who provided some homemade chili and corn bread muffins for the Red Cross staff. Without these volunteers this blood drive would not be possible. |
