Virtue winners named
Summit officials released recently the names of its OBEDIENCE virtue winners, ending a month long period when students worked to improve their overall emphasis on following directions from superiors at home and at school.
Selected as the current winners: High school students Michael Hattrup, Tara Stubbers, David Johnson, and Rachel Uhlenkott, junior high students: Shane Stubbers and Rachel Frei, and elementary students: Megan Seubert, Claira Osborne, Matthew Seubert, Lauren Stubbers, Thomas Schwartz, Maggie Chmelik, Taylor Lustig, and Michael Schwartz.
Models for the students during the obedience campaign were Saints Cyril and Methodius, brothers who served as missionaries in the Slavic area of Eastern Europe, and who are credited with developing the Cyrillic language there, a mixture of Greek and the native Slavic language.
The next campaign to be reported, will be the one titled Constancy, with Elizabeth Ann Seton, an American saint, noted for her efforts as a mother and her work in the field of education.
