Health program moves
The home health programs administered by St. Mary’s and Clearwater Valley Hospitals have recently consolidated their offices into one location in Kamiah. Until recently, SMH-CVHC Home Health had offices in both Cottonwood and Orofino. “During these tough economic times we’re all looking at ways to increase our effectiveness while conserving our resources,” said Shawn Severson, RN, Director, SMH-CVHC Home Health. “Consolidating our separate offices into one location allows us to continue serving our patients, many of whom live in the Kamiah area. Our staff will continue to see patients within our service area.” The office is located in the house adjacent to the Kamiah Medical Clinic which is owned by St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics. The new address is 508 Oak Street. Both programs will retain their phone numbers, 962-2461 and 476-8027. Both will connect to the Kamiah office. The former offices were located in the Orr Building in Cottonwood and in the Medical Park Building in Orofino. To qualify for home health services a patient must need assistance to leave home, be under a physician’s care, be willing to follow a plan of care and require intermittent skilled nursing or rehabilitative services. According to Severson, guidelines have been established by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurances for coverage of home health care. “If you meet the eligibility requirements, Medicare and Medicaid payment is accepted as payment n full. Private insurances may vary in coverage up to 100 percent of charges,” said Severson. The service area of SMH-CVHC Home Health includes Cottonwood, Orofino, Kamiah, Kooskia, Grangeville, Craigmont, Pierce, Weippe and some of the surrounding vicinities. |
