Letters
to the editor from this week's Chronicle:
To the Editor,
I live only a little way through the timber from the Prison. I received
a phone call at 3:15 a.m. to inform me there was a prison escape on Tuesday
morning. Then at 4, they called again to report he had been apprehended
and was in custody. Then in reality is was reported on the 7 o’clock news
on the radio that the escapee had stolen a Dodge pickup and headed south
and is still at large.
I have small grandchildren and want to keep them safe—How can we when
we are given false information like this? I think our prison system lacks
a lot when it comes to the close neighbors and our protection.
