graduate from Robert Ganss school
October 8, 2009 marked the September graduation for twenty-six offenders at NICI. Twenty-five students received their General Education Development certificates, while one received his high school diploma. The auditorium was standing room only with nine family members in attendance along with education, treatment, and security staff from NICI. Students and teachers’ aides were also in attendance to support the graduates. Representative Ken Roberts , Republican Majority Caucus Chair in the Idaho House of Representatives, gave the commencement address. He emphasized the importance of developing relationships with respected members of the community and educational institutions. He challenged the graduates to focus on developing skill-sets needed to achieve and earn an income. “Life is all about learning, and changes are going to be a part of life.” |
