& Mitten drive
High school student volunteers will be collecting hats and mittens for the Christmas baskets Halloween evening (October 31st) between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. We will be accepting new or slightly used scarves, children and adult mittens and hats. Collection boxes will also be available in the secretary’s offices in all three schools. Crafts bazaar is Saturday This Saturday, October 24th the annual Cottonwood Crafts Bazaar will be taking place at the Cottonwood Community Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cottonwood’s very own sorority, Xi Beta Rho, sponsors this yearly event attracting a variety of vendors who sell homemade items such as, baked goods, soaps, jams, jewelry, magnets, pillows and frames while other vendors bring items from their home businesses such as Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Avon, Scentsy, and Miche handbags. To add to this fun event the sorority itself sponsors a silent auction and a potato bar that starts at 11:00. Xi Beta Rho is a group that is community oriented and tries to give back to the community. With the money earned from this event, the group operates all year, adopts families at Christmas, and is able to donate to other worthy community causes, such as the Cottonwood Community Hall project. This is a great opportunity to come and shop in your hometown for nontraditional and unique items and gifts. We hope to see you there! TSA prize winners named The TSA Halloween Prize Drawing was a huge success thanks to all those who purchased tickets. The 1st place basket went to Charmin Becker, 2nd went to Claire Whitley, and 3rd went to Sally Rehder, who has never won anything. The Technology Student Association club members would like to thank everyone who supported them in purchasing tickets. |
