Youth active in December
Dear youth, "Oh come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord." As we come together to prepare for the greatest gift of all, we invite the youth of our communities to join us in preparation, celebration, and adoration. On Dec. 2nd we begin the month with our second Confirmation class. We will meet at the Junior High Peace Building (JHPB) @ 7:30 p.m. Please read pamphlet 2 and be prepared to share. On Dec. 5th we will begin the day bright and early with Adoration @ 5:00 a.m. @ St. Mary's. Following our prayer time we will meet @ the Coffee Mill for breakfast. (Please bring $5.00). Also on this date the youth who will be serving tables @ the Westhoff and Schaeffer wedding, please meet at the Greencreek hall @ 4:00 p.m. On Dec. 9th our Theology of the Body small group will meet at Debbie's office @ 7:45 p.m. Pizza will be served at 7 :00 p.m. Come and join us for a night of fun, food, and discussion. On Dec. 15th I will be attending the Deanery meeting in Lewiston. Please pray for all of our North Central youth ministers as we plan the January youth leadership retreat. On Dec. 16th the mission team for Tijuana will meet in Debbie's office@ 7:00 p.m. to plan the annual alumni game set for Dec. 28th. All team members are asked to attend this meeting. On Dec. 19th the Confirmation youth and other High School youth are asked to meet to begin decorating for the community light parade. We will work from 12:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. (The location is to be announced later) Also, on the Dec. 19th our monthly youth Mass will be held @ St Mary's @ 7:00 p.m. All youth and families are encouraged to attend. The Mass will be followed be a pizza feed in the Sacred Heart Room. Everyone is invited! Come and share your Christmas spirit with your communities and parish family. "Tis the season for faith filled fellowship". On Dec. 20th the youth will finish the float from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. At 3:45 we will meet in Debbie's office to get prepared for the parade and the parade line up will begin at 4:30 p.m. It will definitely be a night filled with the spirit of Christmas! On Dec. 21 st we will meet to undecorated the float @ 3:30. (place to be announced). At 6:00 p.m. we will meet in Debbie's office to begin our night of caroling. Following caroling we will go to the Coffee Mill for pizza, games, and a white elephant gift exchange. Please bring a wrapped gift for exchange, remember the crazier the better! Call Debbie if you have questions. Dec. 25th I would like to wish a Merry Christmas to all. Please remember to enjoy this special time with family and friends! Dec. 28th the Youth Ministry team and mission team for Tijuana will host the annual alumni game at Prairie Middle School. The women's game begins @ 6:15 and the men's game follows. All of St. Gertrude's Academy, Prairie, and Summit Academy alumni are invited and encouraged to attend this entertaining community event! Cost for participate registration is $10.00. Registration and spectator cost will be taken at the door. There will also be concessions, a 3-point contest and a free throw contest. We hope to see you and thank you in advance for your support. All proceeds go toward our mission trip to Tijuana in June of 2010. May the joy of the Christmas season enter your heart and may you find new hope and a reason for celebration as you discover the Christ child. Yes, it through the birth of a small infant that we can rejoice with gratitude and say, "Oh come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord". Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
