youth activities for January
Dear Youth in Christ, As we enter into a new year the youth of our communities are invited to join us as we grow and learn about our Catholic faith. We will be planning for our mission trip, preparing for the Idaho Catholic Youth Convention, facilitating a faith night and social opportunity for the Junior High youth, celebrating a Youth Mass, engaging in a local retreat, and learning through prayer, fun, and education in small and large group activities. Please come and see where God may be calling you this year. You may be surprised! On Jan 6th the Confirmation class will meet @ the JHPB @ 7:30 p.m. Please have the work done in pamphlet 2 and be prepared to discuss pamphlet 3. On Jan. 11th the Tijuana mission team will meet @ 7:30 @ Deb’s office to plan annual Super Bowl, chili and cinnamon roll delivery and continue planning for the mission trip in June of 2010. (Please watch the bulletin and paper for Super Bowl delivery details.) On Jan. 13th the H.S. peer ministers will meet @ 7:00 p.m. in Deb’s office to plan for the monthly REACH session. On Jan. 15th our local H.S. youth involved in planning for ICYC will meet in Coeur d’ Alene for a one day retreat. On Jan. 16th all of our youth will gather in Ferdinand @ 5:00 p.m. Mass to celebrate our monthly Youth Mass. Following the Liturgy we will meet @ the Assumption hall for cookies and juice. As part of our celebration we will have board games available and everyone is invited to spend an evening of faith, fellowship, and fun. We hope to see you there! On Jan. 18th the Theology of the Body small group will meet @ 7:30 p.m. in Deb’s office. Pizza will be served at 7:00 p.m. On Jan. 20th the peer ministers will host the monthly REACH session @ the JHPB @ 7:00 p.m. All peer ministers are asked to be present @ 6:15 p.m. and all Jr. High and H.S. youth are invited and encouraged to attend. Be prepared to see that faith can be fun! On Jan. 27th the Confirmation class, mentors, and sponsors are invited to an ice cream social @ St. Mary’s Church @ 7:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for our Confirmation candidates and the adult population to celebrate each other as God’s presence in our communities. We look forward to seeing you there! On Jan. 27th the Jr. High and H.S. are invited to a night of fun @ the Coffee Mill @ 6:00 p.m. Come and join us as we visit, play board games, eat, and share time with each other. (Please bring $5.00 for the food and drinks.) We look forward to spending this time with you. Bring a game and join us! On Jan. 30-31, the N.C. deanery youth ministers will be hosting a leadership retreat @ St. Gertrude’s Spirit Center. All H.S. youth who are in leadership positions are encouraged to attend. (For registration and details please call Debbie @ 962-7761.) As you can see there are many opportunities for spiritual growth in this first month of 2010. We encourage you to join us as we step forward together to make a difference in our communities and world. Just take a moment to think about it...Where is God calling you at the beginning of this New Year? You may be wonderfully surprised! Happy New Year to all!! (Please note: All ICYC forms are due ASAP.
