Bowl team third at Regionals
Congrats to the Prairie High School Knowledge Bowl team! They earned the 3rd place trophy at the North Idaho Regional Scholastic Competition in Moscow on February 18th. Their 3rd place finish in the C Division (small school) qualifies them for the Idaho INL Scholastic Competition in Boise on March 16th and 17th. Members are: Brock Heath, Mike Karel, Silas Whitley, Garrett Workman, Robin Krol, Josh Roeper, Claire Whitley, Ashley Cannon and Justina Zigler. At the first match of the day, Prairie handily defeated Clearwater Valley. Then they lost a hard fought match to Logos of Moscow. A few minutes into the final match vs. Lakeside, Prairie was behind by 30 points -15 to 15. But in the 2nd half Prairie caught fire and easily beat Lakeside 125-85. It was an exciting match! Also congratulations to Brock Heath! He was selected by area coaches to the All Region Scholastic Bowl Team from out of all of the competing schools. He earned a medallion for this honor. Other teams that qualified in the C Division include Logos, Kendrick and Clearwater Valley. The top 3 teams of their respective divisions at the INL Idaho State Competition will earn an all-expense paid trip to the National Science Bowl held at the National 4-H Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland on April 29 - May 4. |
