Derby held
On April 20,2010 Pack 638 had their annual Pinewood Derby at the Cottonwood Community Hall. We had a great turn out of all the families, plus a few friends totaling 27 individuals. This year we had a few cars that went head to head photo finishing. Lots of racing going on. We even had a couple cars go down backwards. Amazingly enough they went faster. All the parents pitched in and helped either by setting up the hall for the race, weighing cars, prepared the bracketing sheet, assisted in running the gate for the derby cars to go down the track, preparing food, ordering the trophy's, clean up and more. Boy Scouts Mike Karel, Seth Chaffee, and Chris Bradley were our official line judges. They had to make a few tough calls. We appreciate the use of the Community Hall, and for Laurie's Trophy Engraving. The boy's are already talking about next year.
