Free
financial workshop offered
A free Department of Labor workshop in Orofino next week – Beyond Surviving to Thriving – offers the chance to learn valuable skills that can shape the future with a free lunch in the bargain. The workshop from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. May 13th will coach participants on credit, housing, food budgeting, part-time work, tax impacts of job loss and budgeting – information critical to coping with this severe recession. The workshop at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church Little Flower Room at 446 Brown Avenue in Orofino is a joint effort of the Clearwater Human Needs Council, the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Northern Idaho Inc., the Idaho Housing and Finance Association, the University of Idaho Extension Office and the Idaho Department of Labor. “If employers are seeing their employees struggle financially and are concerned, if service providers want to help their clients learn how to move out of crisis, if people in the community want to know how to be money smart, this is the workshop that can do it,” Department of Labor Consultant Melisa Bryant said. “We are connecting economic resources and information with people who are experiencing financial problems. Our goal is to help our community move beyond struggling to survive to thriving financially.” Attendance and lunch are both free. Attendees are asked to RSVP to Melisa Bryant at (208) 476-5506 ext. 3791. |
