Letters
to the editor from this week's Chronicle:
To the Editor
As an Idaho tax payer I am extremely upset that our governor and legislators
spent our tax dollars to widen and build heavy-duty bridges on Highway
12 so Canada can transport these mammoth loads through Idaho. It makes
me wonder who they are representing, the people of Idaho or the big money corporations?
I believe the taxpayers deserve to know how much money or services "Butch"
got from these entities for his re-election. When these corporations
are making tens of billions in profit each year a million or two for a
governor is pocket change. I think the people of Idaho should be informed
of which legislators voted to approve funds for the modifications
to Highway 12 and how much they received in donations from Exxon/Imperial
oil and other large corporations for their campaign chests.
