Rose is employee of the month
The customer service team at St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics recently selected their August Employee of the Month. Debbie Rose was originally hired in the Housekeeping Department of SMHC in 1993. the name of the department has since changed to Environmental Services, but their tasks remain as important today as they were when Rose was hired. Her responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the hospital, clinic, Orr Building, administrative offices and the two off campus houses used to accommodate visiting residents, temporary health care providers and ‘on call’ night staff. Rose received her Certified Nursing Assistant degree from Lewis Clark State College and worked as a CNA from 1996 to 2002, but rejoined the Environmental Services staff. She is a graduate of Prairie High School. “The thing I like best about my job are the people,” said Debbie. She is referring both to her co-workers and the patients she sees while cleaning their rooms. “I try to be as friendly as possible because I know a smile goes a long way to help people recover.” Some of the words and phrases describing Debbie on the nomination forms include goes out of her way to help others, treats others with respect, never talks down to anyone, volunteers time in the community, considerate, friendly, conscious of her work ethic, continues helping even when she is off the clock, goes beyond work duties, willing to do anything for patient or co-worker, caring and professional. Debbie and her husband, Michael, live in Nezperce. They have three sons, Shawn, Jason and Kyle, plus daughter-in-law, Cami, and two grandchildren Gaige Michael and Jacelynn Jenisa. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, collecting decorating items and being with her family. |
