Triathlon
is cancelled
The Camas Prairie Triathlon scheduled for August 20-21 has been cancelled due to a decreased number of registrants. “The number of registered participants was down significantly from last year,” said Gary McEwen, Grangeville PT, one of the tri coordinators. “The other planners and I think August is a time for family vacations and visiting relatives so it may not be the best time to plan an event. We’ve had pretty good turnouts the past three years.” Sponsors include Grangeville Physical Therapy, Groaners Fitness, the University of Idaho Extension Service and St. Mary’s Hospital. “We sincerely apologize to those who have been training for the event, but getting good exercise is certainly never a waste of time,” said McEwen. “We’d like to encourage people to incorporate healthy exercise into their regular schedules. If anyone has any questions or comments, please contact me at 983-2241. I’d be happy to discuss the future of the triathlon.” Jr. High football practice to start Junior High football practice will start Wednesday, August 25 after school at the Prairie football field.
