The Prairie Lady Pirates ended their regular season with a 5-set loss
at Deary. 4 days later they opened District play with a dominating win
over CV in 3 games then just missed clinching a trip to state as they lost

competition.

Shown is the tornado that touched down near Ferdinand
Thursday, Oct. 14. Devin Schmidt took the photo on his cellphone while
on the way to that night’s football game. He and Beau Schlader spotted
the funnel cloud and played stormchaser for a bit. When it touched down
and became a full-fledged tornado they decided it was time to get out of
there.
