Bureau to hold speech contest
Idaho Farm Bureau is sponsoring the Speech Contest with the topic: Idaho Agriculture: Good for Family, Community and State. The contest is open to all Grades 9 - 12 students, public, private and homeschooled. The speech must be not less than 5 minutes or more than 8 minutes in length. Notes are permissible but no reading of scripts. Contestants will furnish copies of the speech for publicity purposes. Visual aids (posters, video clips, or objects of any kind) are not permissible. There will be a first and second place winner for cash prizes. First place winners in each district will compete in Boise in February. Allowances will be given by the State Women's Committee for travel and hotel (one room, one night) expense for one participant per district while attending the finals. Judging: 45 points for Content and Theme, 45 points for Presentation and 10 points for Audience Appeal.
