The above accident took place Tuesday, Feb. 22 at milepost 253 (just north of the Nez Perce War historical site) south of Cottonwood. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hess were returning to California when their 2010 Dodge pickup pulling a 34 foot 2010 5th wheel trailer lost traction to the rear wheels and jack-knifed. There were no injuries. Idaho County Sheriff’s Deputies Fred Cary and Brian Hewson investigated. Photo and information provided by Margo Bambacigno.

"I can't believe I won.  I've never won anything in my life," excitedly exclaimed Peggy (Seubert) Gorciak, when she was informed that she had won first prize at St. Mary's/ Holy Cross Raffle on Sunday, Feb. 13. The top award was ½ hog, cut and wrapped, by Sonnen Meats, owned by Norm and  Julie Sonnen.  Peggy was in Cottonwood visiting her mother, Valeria Seubert, for the week and decided to take in the parish dinner activities, which reaped big rewards for her.  The ticket sales surpassed last years' numbers, and was deemed very successful.  A big thank you to all the donors, supporters, and patrons to make a big project a lot of fun and worthwhile experience according to chairperson, Shirley Gehring.
