Ladies
Night Out set for April 14
Another Ladies Night Out will be held on Thursday, April 14 at the Cottonwood Medical Clinic from 5:30 to 7:30. The focus of the evening will be ‘Women and Relaxation’ featuring Deanna English, RN, Yoga Therapist. She will lead an ‘all ages, all abilities’ yoga class designed for beginners. Sue Lattin, NCMT, will be available to provide free, relaxing chair massages. All women are invited to attend. Those interested in also having their annual female exam by a St. Mary’s Hospital health care provider must schedule in advance through the clinic, 962-3267. The exam can be billed to the patient’s private insurance provider or can be paid through the Susan G. Komen for the Cure grant from the Boise Chapter. All financial arrangements are kept strictly confidential. “We’re encouraging women of all ages to join us for this evening of camaraderie with a focus on women’s health,” said Julie Church, RN, Cottonwood clinic nurse and one of the Ladies Night Out planners. “Women tend to think more about the health of their families than they do about their own health. We’d like to encourage women to take a little time to learn more about the health factors that impact them. Managing stress effectively can be an issue so we designed the evening to include massage and yoga as a way for women to cope with whatever stressors they are dealing with.” Free goody bags will be distributed to all participants. Their contents will reflect the relaxation theme. Refreshments, handouts and discount coupons for a full massage will be included in the evening’s activities. Call the SMH Cottonwood Medical Clinic, 962-3267, for more information or to schedule a female wellness exam. Receptionists can also schedule a mammogram or bone mineral density test for anyone referred by their provider. |
