Easter
Tree celebrates life
The St. Mary’s Hospital Mission Committee has decorated and placed a Tree of Life in the entrance to the Cottonwood Medical Clinic. The branches are decorated with colorful eggs transcribed with the first name of each baby born at the hospital in 2010. “The Mission Committee members wanted to celebrate life especially during the Easter season and felt a good way to do that would be to remember the new life that enters our community with the birth of each baby,” said Sr. Janet Barnard, SMHC Mission Integration Coordinator. St Mary’s Hospital averages about 60 births a year. Each of the providers does prenatal care and well child checkups after babies are born and throughout childhood. Barb Michels, RN, is the OB Coordinator and Sr. Janet Barnard, RN, and Lisa Halligan, RN, are the childbirth educators. The Tree of Life will be up during the month of April. The display also includes a poster with photographs of the SMH babies. |
