Planners prepare for ‘Dancing with the Stars’
The planning team for the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ fundraiser for St. Mary’s Hospital are putting the finishing touches on the Saturday, May 14th  event at the Cottonwood Community Center.  Only 200 tickets are available for the catered dinner, DJ Dancing, Funny Money Casino, Live and Silent Auctions and all-around good time.
Reservations can be made by calling Cheri Holthaus, 962-2327 or Jim May, 476-8052.  Tickets can be purchased through St. Mary’s Hospital; Grangeville Physical Therapy; the Kamiah Medical Clinic, Cedar Creek Creations and True Value Hardware in Kamiah plus US Bank in Cottonwood.  They are $30 per person with all proceeds benefitting the programs and services at St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics.
“We received such positive feedback from our last fundraiser, the Mardi Gras, that we immediately decided to plan another event for the communities we serve,” said Jim May, SMHC Development Director. “It is our way of sharing our successes with our patients and families and celebrating award winning local healthcare services.  Having successful fundraisers also help us apply for grants because funders often request proof of local support.  We feel our Dancing with the Stars will be fun and provide an excellent opportunity to connect with friends.”
The no-host social hour begins at 5:00 with dinner being served at 6:00 p.m. followed by live and silent auctions.  At 8:00 p.m. a popular DJ will provide the opportunity to dance to the big band sounds of yesteryear also popular with today’s younger crowd.  The Funny Money Casino will be open from 9:30 to 11:30.
The live auction will feature a Gold Medal Golf package which includes one night accommodation at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, plus two rounds of golf at their course.  Also at the resort is a Deluxe SPAtacular package with one night’s accommodation and two 50 minute spa services.  Other vacation packages and surprises will be auctioned including a weekend at the Hotel McCall, a Cabelas fly fishing kit, a ROW Adventures package with lodging and a Lochsa River trip for two.
Silent auction items include a beautiful concrete bird feeder and tree wind chime hand made by Ernie Jennings and a Cleveland driver offered by the Grangeville Country Club.
“We hope everyone will join us for a night of fun, friendship and fundraising,” said May. “We’re encouraging people to make their reservations sooner rather than later so we can complete our planning. We’re looking forward to seeing our longtime friends and making some new ones from each of the communities we serve.”

Planners for the SMHC May 14th fundraiser, Dancing with the Stars, are encouraging people to make their reservations early by calling St. Mary’s Hospital.  The evening includes dancing, a funny money casino and auctions.  Planners include Shellie Schumacher, Misty Johnson, Jim May, Cheri Holthaus and Lisa Rice
