Bureau awards scholarships
Graduating seniors from three area high schools are winners of Idaho County Farm Bureau Scholarships, receiving $1000 each toward their college expenses. From Grangeville High School, Avery Arlene Russell graduates with plans to attend Trevecca Nazarene College, Nashville TN, majoring in journalism/photography (communications). Her parents are Valor and Lorie Palmer Russell, Grangeville. Mikel Kristin Harrington, senior at Clearwater Valley High School, is graduating as valedictorian of her class. She will attend University of Montana, Missoula, in the fall. Chad & Krisi Pratt, Stites, are her parents. Summit Academy had two students winning scholarships. Rachel Jean Wemhoff, daughter of Roger and Annette Wemhoff, Grangeville, is also valedictorian of her class. She plans to attend Benedictine College, Atchison KS, taking courses to become an elementary education teacher. Jamie Marie Chmelik is the fourth scholarship winner. James and Colleen Chmelik, Cottonwood, are her parents. She has chosen Lewis Clark State College, Lewiston, to further her studies, majoring in Radiology. Ms. Harrington's application has been forwarded to Idaho Farm Bureau, Pocatello, to compete with the other county winners for a chance to receive $750. Congratulations to the winners! |
