from the Raspberry Festival
Picture-perfect August weather welcomed visitors from across the region to the 19th Annual Raspberry Festival at the Monastery of St. Gertrude near Cottonwood. The Festival, which includes a Fun Run/Walk, breakfast, kid’s carnival, historical demonstrations, museum and chapel tours, car show, craft vendors, quilt show, raffle, bbq beef sandwiches and raspberry shortcake, is a fundraiser for the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude. The winners of the Fun Run/Walk and Car Show ‘N Shine are as follows. Congratulations to all of the winners, and thanks to everyone who came out to make the Festival a success! People’s Choice 2nd place – Boyd and Regina Eberhardt of Lewiston with their 1968 Mercury Cougar Participant’s Choice Award – Bill Purdy of Kamiah with his 1946 Ford Coupe Participant’s Choice 2nd place – Jerry Litchfield of Stites with his 1968 Pontiac GTO Nun’s Choice Award – Larry Kirpes of Colton with his 1982 Zimmer Golden Spirit Nun’s Choice 2nd place – Harold Schuerman of Grangeville with his 1930 Model A Ford Coupe This 1982 Zimmer Golden Spirit was the Nun’s Choice winner at the Raspberry Festival Show and Shine. The car combines a classic 1920’s-30’s styling in the front with more modern styling in the back. The car is owned by Larry Kirpes of Colton, Wash.
