girls win at Timberline
Raising their overall record to 7 and 3, and their White Pine record to 4 and 1, the Patriots returned from Timberline last week, with one more pre-Christmas game on their schedule, that at Grangeville Monday, Dec. 19. The Timberline game was contested from beginning to end, as Summit recovered from a slow second quarter to outscore the Spartans 15-8 in the third with the fourth seeing significant action by the Summit Jayvees. Scores by quarter: 16-10, 20-16, 35-24 and the final 43-34. Scoring for the Patriots: Nicole Frei 5, Kayla Schumacher 5, Nicole Wemhoff 3, Brooke Schumacher 11 and Savanah Prigge 19. Prigge led the rebound effort with 11, the Schumacher sisters each added 6, Nicole Frei 5, Rachael Frei 1 and Megan Rehder 2. Wemhoff dished out 5 assist for Summit, with two each coming from the Schumachers and Prigge. Nicole Frei had 4 steals and Kayla Schumacher and Wemhoff added 3 each. In the 2-quarter prelim, Summit had the hot hand, and won handily 32-6 to up their season record to 5 and 3. Sarah Chmelik and Megan Seubert led that effort with 15 and 11 points respectively, and also led the effort on the boards with 6 each.
