The GEAR UP program funded the purchase of the material
for receiving blankets which were sewn by students in the Prairie High
School sewing class taught by Millie Wimer. The students donated
the blankets to St. Mary’s Hospital nursery. The sewing class also
created 23 Christmas stockings which they donated to the Cottonwood Food
Bank. The materials for the stockings were also purchases with GEAR

services that will increase the number of students prepared to enroll and
succeed in postsecondary education. Every current Sophomore, Junior
