relays record wins
Sarah Chmelik won the long jump and 2 girls relays also won for Summit Academy at a 10-school track meet at Lapwai Tuesday, April 10. Chmelik won the long jump competition with a mark of 13’5”. Kayla Schumacher was 8th in the event at 11’7”. The 4x100 relay team of Kayla Schumacher, Nicole Wemhoff, Chmelik and Brooke Schumacher won in a time of 56.40 while the same 4 girls in the order of Chmelik, Wemhoff, Kayla Schumacher and Brooke Schumacher won the medley relay in a time of 2:09.84. Wemhoff also placed 3rd in the 800 in 2:55.94. Brooke Schumacher was 5th in both the 100 in 14.27 and the 200 in 30.22. Chmelik placed 7th in the 100 in 14.29. Kayla Schumacher placed 11th in the 200 at 33.30. For the boys Dan Wemhoff placed 11th in 3 different events: the 100 in 12.53, the 200 in 27.08 and the long jump at 15’5”. Josh Frei competed in the 800 and 1600 but no times were available. The girls team placed 5th with 46.5 points.
