Library news
We were saddened by the loss of our friend Ladd Arnoti, former Mayor, business man, outstanding citizen and soul mate of board member, Dorothy Arnoti.  He leaves a huge imprint on this community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dorothy and the family.
The Library is so grateful for the interest and support in featuring a local artist of the month.  The next display will feature the talent of artist Christine Munger.
Plans are continuing for the upcoming yard sale May 19th in the community hall. There are tables available for rent that will guarantee a weather free display . The cost is $7.00.  To reserve your space contact 962-8691, 962-3561 or the Library at 962-3714.  There will be a food court, raffle ticket sale and other events taking place all day long . The Library will also be accepting donated items to be included with the annual Library Book Sale.  There is a large variety of both old and new books, hard cover and paperback for all ages.  All proceeds will go toward the purchase of new children's books.
This week the library is featuring the series Chicken Soup for the Soul.  They are Inspirational Stories about Love and Relationships.  Stories to Open the Heart and Rekindle the Spirit.  There are six books available and guaranteed good reading.  Every week there are new books being placed on the shelves.  You will find them in the New Arrivals section.
Volunteers are always needed and to recognize National Volunteer week the library board would like to Thank those of you who have given your time and talent to help in so many different ways this past year.  Without your help we could not have accomplished all the things that have been done to make our library what it is today.  There are so many that to name each one would be impossible.  You know who you are whether you are a Boy Scout, helped with the Brats and Brew, mended torn books, or read at the Summer reading program, brought treats for the N.I.C.I. boys, or ran the vacuum we are grateful.   To the regulars who show up each week as their time permits, we so appreciate your help, to the Saturday volunteers and the "honey do" carpenter, we love you all.  It is because of each of you that the library continues to function.  A great big Library Thank You and to our patrons.  What a great community.
