Central Idaho Art Association just completed their 45th Spring Art Show Saturday at Grangeville's Bicentennial Museum Basement Gallery. The 'Best of Show' winner was Jackie Zumwalt of Grangeville for her painting "Revealed." This piece of art also received a $75 prize for 'Best of Show,' and 'The Gallery Award' ( a Merit award for 1/4 off custom framing), and the painting was chosen 'Kid's Choice' by the school children who visited the CIAA show Thursday and Friday. 'Merit Awards' of $25 each were received by Roger Inghram's photography "Golden Eagle;" Ray Pederson's carved wooden "Whitetail Deer Antlers;" and an acrylic landscape "Little Salmon" by Joyce Close of Lucile. Another acrylic painting by Joyce Close, "Ollie's Grave," received the Thursday 'People's Choice' and a check for $5. The photo "Poppies in Rain" by Grangeville's Bill Bridge garnered two ' People's Choice' and checks totaling $10. Blue Ribbons were won by: Mary Bakker, White Bird; Jackie Zumwalt, Grangeville; Ruth Root, Orofino; two blues to Roger Inghram, Grangeville; and Ray Pederson, of Grangeville. White Bird artist Kathryn Van Acker was the Featured Artist. Her varied display of her artistic talents added much to the show. The Featured Artist’s work is not judged. The annual Spring Art Show attracts artists from throughout Central Idaho and neighboring Washington communities.
