team at Regionals
Summit Academy’s track team competed at the Regional meet Friday and Saturday, May 11-12 at Lapwai, but weren’t able to qualify anyone for State. A couple of the girls were unable to be there on Saturday taking them out of a couple relays and the long jump finals. They did compete in the medley final on Friday and the team of Brooke Schumacher, Nicole Wemhoff, Chmelik and Kayla Schumacher placed 9th with a time of 2.:09.53. Brooke Schumacher and Kayla Schumacher competed in the 100 meter dash prelims with Brooke placing 11th in 14.31 and Kayla 23rd in 15.11. Dan Wemhoff competed in the 100 meter prelims on Friday finishing 21st in 12.76, and the long jump where he placed 16th with a mark of 15’10”. Wemhoff and Josh Frei both ran the 1600 meter final on Saturday where Wemhoff placed 9th in 5:31.53 and Frei was 17th in 6:27.98.
