The Monastery of St. Gertrude is receiving applications until July 1 for a three-week artist’s residency September 3-23, 2012. The program is open to visual artists, writers and musicians. The Artist’s Residency at St. Gertrude is the opportunity for artists to spend time with their practices in a monastic setting amidst the Benedictine Sisters of Cottonwood, Idaho. Artists will live in the Monastery, joining the community in meals and other aspects of community life. Residency participants will be provided with studio space, a private room with shared bathroom and all meals. Participants will also gather once a week for reflections on creativity and spirituality and will make an informal presentation of their works at the end. There is no fee to apply or participate.
