loses twice
The Summit Lady Patriots dropped a pair of league matches last week to open their volleyball season. In their opener on Tuesday, August 28 they were the “home” team against Nezperce at Craigmont and lost in 4 games 11-25, 25-23, 9-25, 18-25. The JV team also lost by scores of 15-25, 22-25, 15-11. Their next match was at Deary on Thursday, August 30 where they were swept in 3 games by scores of 8-25, 14-25 and 18-25. With the losses they are 0-2 on the season as well as in White Pine League Division II play.
New teachers at Summit Academy Summit Academy is excited to welcome Dr. Dan Guerra, biochemist and professor at Washington State University as a new staff member. Dr. Guerra will be teaching Advanced Placement (AP) Environmental Science and AP Chemistry. The students are thrilled to have the opportunity to earn college credits for these courses. Also, Summit Academy welcomes our new teachers, Chad Arneson from Oregon, Rob Stange from Florida, as well as, Robert Farris and Colleen Hurst from Connecticut. All the new teachers attended a new teacher orientation a week and a half before school and have been busy preparing for their classes. We anticipate a productive and successful year!
