Mary's provides transitional care service
Regardless of where you have your surgery or where you go for specialty care, consider St. Mary’s Hospital for skilled nursing care to help you transition back to home. This hospital-based skilled care nursing service helps patients transition from an acute hospital stay, regardless of that hospital’s location, back to home. “Recuperate with us and be close to your home, family and friends,” commented Director of Nursing Kathy Seubert. “We provide post-surgical care especially following knee or hip replacement or other orthopedic procedures. We also do follow up care after an injury or illness, stroke or heart attack. This service is not only a benefit to the patient but also for the family, it makes their lives easier if they don’t have to drive to Lewiston or Spokane to visit their loved ones.” The Transitional Care Service also provides in-hospital physical, speech and respiratory therapy along with IV antibiotic and/or IV medication for pain control and wound care. Discharge planning and follow up in-home nursing care is provided if necessary through the hospital’s Visiting Nurse Service program. Costs for eligible individuals may be covered by Medicare or Medicaid. “Ask your doctor about these services or give me a call at 962-3251 for more information,” said Seubert. |
