Dear Teens, The month of October invites us to know the greatness of God through seeing the beautiful colors, feeling the crispness in the air, and tasting the fruits of the harvest. It is in discovering God’s greatness that we celebrate our faith and embrace our God with an eager heart. Come and join our Catholic youth this month as we gather to celebrate the month of October through liturgy, prayer, service, playing, learning, worship, sharing, working and most of all loving. On Wed. Oct. 3rd the assigned peer minister will meet in Debbie’s office @ 3:30 to plan the Oct. REACH session. We will build up the theme, “Well Versed” relationships with parents. On Oct. 5th all Jr. High and High School youth are invited to help with the roadside clean up day. We will meet at Debbie’s office at 10:30 to go over the information. Following roadside clean up we will gather at the OMG youth room for pizza and pop. Any and all help is greatly welcome and appreciated! All youth and youth leaders are invited to attend Adoration at St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct 5th. Let’s pray with and for our young people! Our small group Bible study group will meet in Debbie’s office at 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 8th. We will continue our study in the book of Samuel 1. All new comers are welcome. We will have pizza at 6:30. The peer ministers are hosting a themed movie night on Oct 10th at the OMG youth room @ 7:00 p.m. All high school youth are invited to attend. Please watch the bulletin for the theme and more details. Yes you will be asked to dress up! It’s going to be great fun! Adult core team members are invited to a meeting at Jitters at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct 11th. We will be reviewing the calendar and sharing our ideas on youth events. Thank you for your willingness to help! All youth who plan on being confirmed in the Spring of 2014 are asked to be present at an informational meeting at the CEC building @ 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 14th. Parents please attend this meeting as well so you know what the expectations are for preparing for this great Sacrament. Please call Debbie if you have any questions. Anyone who in interested in the possibility of doing a mission trip to Haiti in 2016 is asked to be present at a meeting on Oct. 17th at the OMG youth room @ 7:00 p.m. We will discuss future fundraisers and here about the trip possibilities. Adults as well as youth are welcome to attend! There is a youth Mass at Ferdinand @ 5:00 p.m. on Oct 20th. The Youth Mass will be hosted by the Jr. High And everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. On Oct. 22nd the small group Bible study will meet @ 7:00 p.m. in Debbie’s office to continue our study in Samuel 1. We will have pizza at 6:30. All Jr. High and High School youth are invited to our REACH faith session. This session is hosted by the peer ministers on Oct 24th @ 6:30 p.m. If you have not attended one of these sessions, I would highly encourage you to do so. They are spirit filled fun and always have a message you can use in your life! Our first Confirmation evening class is on Oct. 28th at the High School PFFP building @ 7:00 p.m. The classes go from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a break in between. All first year candidates who signed up for this class are asked to attend. I’m really looking forward to beginning this great journey with you! Always see the greatness of the Lord!
