$50.00 DOLLARS CASH PRIZE !! It can be yours if you enter the Bräts and Brew Contest and win first place in the competition. There is a wonderful German cook book available at the Library that you may come in and copy or get ideas from. It is the competition that make the event a success. What begin as a “tasting” event has become a dinner per se. This does not mean an entrant may not prepare and serve a larger portion if they wish. The original rules read: Enter one or more categories: SAUSAGE, BEER, SIDE DISH/SALAD, DESSERT, BREAD. ONE ENTRY PER CATEGORY PER PERSON. ENTRY MUST BE HOMEMADE. WE ENCOURAGE GERMAN FOOD, BUT IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT. ENTRANTS MUST SERVE THEIR FOOD/DRINK. EACH ENTRY SHOULD BE IN SUFFICIENT QUANTITY TO PROVIDE FOR A TASTE FOR 200 PEOPLE. SUGGESTED SIZES: SAUSAGE ½ “ PIECES, BEER 1 OZ. SIDE DISH/SALAD AND DESSERT 1 TABLESPOON BREAD ½ SLICE. HOMEMADE SAUERKRAUT AND SCALLOPED POTATOES WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE LIBRARY. Entrants will receive one free ticket and spouse may purchase one at half price. Dinner Tickets and Entry forms are available at the Library 962-3714 or contact Laurine Nightingale-962-8691 or Donna Wassmuth-962-3561 for further information. Only 200 tickets are available and they are going fast. Tune into KORT to win free tickets. A nice assortment of auction items will be on display. Drawings will be held throughout the evening. The Coffey Twins and the Satins will once again be providing music. Come and show your support for the Library during this once a year event, and a good time is promised. |
