Summit girls lose twice

Summit vs Highland
The Score was tied at 3, 2 minutes into the game when Summit went on a 20 to four run to end the quarter. Most of this was due to the full court pressure put on by Summit and poor shooting by Highland. Frei and Seubert were the top scorers of the quarter with both having scored 6 points.
Second quarter was a crucial one for Summit as the fouls started to mount and would take a toll on the Patriots later in the game. By the end of the 2nd quarter Summit had 13 fouls and Highland with 7 fouls. Seubert again was the top scorer for the quarter, but also had the most fouls at half time with 3 fouls.
With 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter Summit still led 41 to 36 when Abi Chmelik became the first of four starters to foul out. At 2:07 to play in the fourth quarter and Summit down to only four players playing on the court Summit still led 50 to 49.
Megan Seubert fouled out with 25 seconds left to go in the 4th quarter. That left the Patriots with only 3 players on the court which proved to be too few for Highland’s five players as they managed to overcome the deficit and win the game by 3 points. The final score was 50 to 53 with Highland victorious.

Summit vs Deary
Deary came out strong in the first and second quarter with Corral Knerr leading the way. Their tall center proved to be a problem for the Patriots. Deary came out of the quarter with a 7 point lead, Knerr having scored 6 of their 11 points. Of Summits four points Frei and Abi Chmelik each had 2 points.
The second quarter proved to be hard on the Patriots as they came out of the quarter with still four points and Deary managed to add 16 points to their score.
At the third quarter when the defense was switched and a full court press was put on as Summit tried to get back into the game. They came out of the 3rd quarter outscoring Deary for  the quarter, but Deary was still leading with  17 point.
Summit did manage to get within 8 points at one time but Deary proved to be just a little stronger down the stretch. By the end of the 4th quarter Deary won with a 15 point lead. Top scorers for the game were Frei for Summit with 8 points and Knerr for Deary with 14 points.
