5 win titles at Pomeroy Tournament
The Prairie Wrestling Team competed in a 7-school tournament at Pomeroy  Saturday, Dec. 29, with 5 wrestlers earning first place medals with 1 second and 1 third.
As a team Prairie placed second behind Kittitas.
Following are match by match results for each wrestler:
106 lbs - Kellie Heitman, pinned Dallas Gott, Wahkiakum; pinned Isaac Bobb, White Swan; pinned Matthias Feder, Lind-Ritzville; lost 0-15 to Jose Marin, Kittitas.  2nd Place
113 lbs - Tyler Ross, pinned Gerardo Rios, Kittitas; pinned Clayton King, Pomeroy; pinned Kyle Ritz, Lind-Ritzville.  1st Place
120 lbs - Dally Ratcliff pinned Logan Weber, Kittitas; pinned Arthur Martin, White Swan.  1st Place
132 lbs - Tayler Heitman pinned Daniel Espinosa, Kittitas; lost by pin to Hugo Barajas, White Swan; won 6-5 over Alex Johnson, Wahkiakum; lost by pin to J. D. Galegos, Kittitas.  3rd Place
138 lbs - Alex Duman pinned Jesus Crawford, Wahkiakum; pinned Jonny Hernandez, Lind-Ritzville.  1st Place
145 lbs - Kade Perrin pinned Alvaro Gonzales, White Swan; pinned Mason Mackey, Wahkiakum; pinned Jon Walling, Kittitas.  1st Place
160 lbs - Dillon Matson, Prairie lost by pin to Adam Vasion, Wahkiakum; lost by pin to Ethan Melville, Lind-Ritzville.
182 lbs - Garrett Schmidt pinned Nicholas Nanez, White Swan; pinned  Darion Hilbert, Grangeville.  1st Place
Dally Ratcliff is about to pin Logan Webber of Kittitas in the championship match at 120 lbs.
Kellie Heitman is about to score a pin in an early round match at the Pomeroy Tournament.
In what amounted to the championship match in his class, Garrett Schmidt grapples with a White Swan wrestler.
Having a handicap doesn't necessarily keep you from competing as Tyler Ross of Prairie faced Kyle Ritz of Lind-Ritzville at the Pomeroy Tournament.
