Marianne Wren gives a short talk about the early days
of the Prairie Community Library during the open house held recently. She
was the first head librarian. To the left is Laurine Nightingale and to
the right are Donna Wassmuth with Emmett and Cindy Wilson, seated with
certificate. The Wilsons were also heavily involved in getting the library

The Cub Scouts held their annual pinewood derby on
Thursday April 25th. Eleven boys participated in the race. The
racers were split into two pools and raced a round robin type of event, guaranteeing
each boy 5 races. The three winners from each pool raced in
the winners bracket. There were many close races and some ties that
had to be raced again. The first place winner was Jordan Farnworth,
2nd place was Caleb Butler, an 3rd place was Matt Coppernoll. The
boys all did a great job on building and painting their cars. Each
boy was awarded a racing medal and a drives license (valid only at the
pinewood derby). Afterward, we were treated to ice cream sundaes.
