Garden Club earns awards
LeeAnn McMaster, Vice President, has returned from attending the Garden Clubs of Idaho, Inc. State convention held in Moscow, Idaho June 19-21, 2013 Theme: “Tapestry on the Palouse”. While representing the Nezperce Garden Club LeeAnn was awarded many certificates and monetary awards from the State, Pacific Region and National levels. Awards that the Nezperce Garden Club received from Garden Clubs of Idaho, Inc. include: 1st place and $10 for a video promoting Flower Show School, 1st place and $10 for Club Yearbook, 1st place and $10 for Youth Involvement with a club, 1st place and $10 for Conservation/Birds, 1st place and $10 for Website, 1st place and $10 for Facebook, 1st place and $10 for Calendar and a certificate for sponsoring Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl Poster Contest in their Community. Awards received from Pacific Region Garden Clubs include: 1st place and $20 for sponsoring club Activities with a Youth Group not a garden club, 2nd place to LeeAnn McMaster for a published article on horticulture, 3rd place to LeeAnn McMaster for a published article on communications (video promoting Flower Show School), HM for Yearbook. Awards received from National Garden Clubs, Inc. include: Certificate to Nezperce Elementary School for a Garden Project, Certificate to Nezperce Garden Club for sponsoring a School Garden Project, Certificate for video promoting Flower Show School, Certificate for Website and 1st place in the Nation for Publication of a Calendar. After Millie’s program, Lorena Thompson installed the newly elected officers for 2013-2015 term of office (shown above). The officers are as follows: President, Mary Ann Kuther; Vice President, LeeAnn McMaster; Secretary and Treasurer, Sandie Cardwell. After the installation of officers, everyone enjoyed refreshments and a tour of Millie’s garden. |
