Prairie Imperial Bowl in Craigmont held an open house
Saturday to show off the upgraded lanes and pinsetters. The dark panels
shown in the top photo are where those who sponsored a machine will have
their names. PIB hopes to schedule another open house in August. Leagues
will be starting up in September. Machine installer Russ Hunt said with
the new oiler shown in the lower photo and the synthetic overlays that
most bowlers should see a 15% improvement in their averages. Click on the
photos for larger views.

The new Brunswick pinsetters at Prairie Imperial Bowl
feature a more mechanically driven setup as opposed to the hundreds of
wires used in the AMF machines. Unlike the AMF machines the distributor
belt doesn’t move, the basket with the pins in the upper photo rotates
and then once it’s full, drops them into the sleeves, lower photo, that
spots the pins on the deck. There should be way fewer pin jams. Click on
the photos for larger views.
