officials needed
The District 2 Football Officials Association is seeking interested people to officiate junior high and high school football games this fall. Competition begins the last week of August and continues through the end of the regular season in early November. Officials are needed for junior high, junior varsity and high school contests in District 2, which includes the following 15 teams: Clearwater Valley, Deary, Genesee, Grangeville, Kamiah, Kendrick, Lapwai, Lewis County, Lewiston, Moscow, Orofino, Potlatch, Prairie, Timberline and Troy. Games are played throughout the week with below-varsity games mainly on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and varsity games on Friday and an occasional Thursday or Saturday. The first meeting of officials this year is August 6 at 6 p.m. at the Lewiston Police Department Training Facility at 2419 16th Avenue in Lewiston. Meetings are scheduled for 6 p.m. at that location on Aug. 6, 13, 27 and Sept. 3. Additionally, there is a mandatory state clinic for all officials at the Lewiston High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21. The state fee for new officials is $37 plus a $10 dues fee for District 2. New officials can register online at http://www.idhsaa.org/officials/reg_form.asp or at the state clinic Aug. 21.
