Friendly, cheery and helpful are just a few of the adjectives used by co-workers to describe Mary Higgins the  August
Employee of the Month for St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mary has worked for SMH since 1992; her current job responsibilities include; processing all insurance and self-pay payments for both the clinic and hospital and entering physician charges. Mary has also been a receptionist and transcriptionist for the Cottonwood Clinic. “Her work is amazing, fast and accurate,” commented a co-worker. “She is very friendly and helpful to our customers. She works well with other departments and helps solve problems. I think she has her day planned before she even gets to work. There can be a pile of work on her desk but she seems to always get it all done.” “I enjoy meeting people and have always been intrigued by the medical field,” said Mary “This job lets me do both. I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing people throughout the years working here at SMH.” Mary graduated from Prairie High School and went on to receive her Medical Secretary degree from Lewis Clark State College in 1984. When not working; Mary enjoys camping, spending time with her family, reading, riding 4-wheelers, gardening, attending sporting events and working with their farm animals. Mary and her husband Steve have two sons; Tyler who is a senior at the University of Idaho and Tanner who is a senior at Kamiah High School. |
