The weather cooperated at the Raspberry Festival Sunday as they tried something different and had burgers and the traditional raspberry shortcake desserts on the front lawn rather than in the high school gym. The lower photo shows the dessert booth. More Raspberry Festival photos with story at left. Click on the photos for larger views.

The Annual Royalty Luncheon was held at Grangeville last Wednesday. This is where the new royalty candidates give their speeches and get judged with the winners to be announced Friday, August 23 at the Fair. More photos from this event in the Chronicle’s Fair Section the week of the Fair. Back from left are candidates Maria Munger, Emily McHugh, Brandi Gehring, Holli Uhlorn and Kelly Turney. Front from left are 1st Princess Jacey Arnzen, Queen Whitney Sonnen and 2nd Princess Jenni Forsmann. Click on the photo for a larger view.

Many have asked, “what’s going on at the Chronicle?” About a year ago Seth Chaffee was looking for an Eagle Scout project and pitched the idea of landscaping the grass patch in front of the Chronicle. He got the resources together and with the help of his father, Kevin Chaffee, and fellow Boy Scouts, got the project done this summer. He tells us the tree is a flowering variety and should get no taller than about 20 feet. Thanks Seth, it looks great! Click on the photo for a larger view.

Tri-Parish youth and adults had a great time at the Steubenville Northwest Conference in Spokane on July 26th and 27th. Front from left are Katarina Tillinghast, Maria Munger, Faith Uhlenkott, Beth Dinning, Emily McHugh and Patty Bruegeman. Back from left are Savannah Hoene, Clark Bruno, Kevin Karel and Chelsey Telles (partially hidden). Not pictured is Debbie Chicane, who was taking the photo. Click on the photo for a larger view.

The camp service project accomplished by the Spartan Patrol of Troop 638 was to take apart this bridge that has been traveled across for over 20 years. Another troop will build a new bridge for their service project. Pictured are Hunter Chaffee, Jared Coppernoll, Blaze and Tate Berdoy and Kevin Tillinghast. Carson Schmidt and Kegian Everett also helped, but were not available for the photo. See story above left. Photo by Shari Chaffee. Click on the photo for a larger view.
