Pirates
have another 'Combine' session
The Prairie Pirate Football team concluded a very successful off-season training regimen this Thursday by competing in another Team Testing Day, which is known in the football realm as a "Combine". There was a great showing of 25 athletes, and each of them performed admirably. Awards were given out for the winners in each event, including the 40 yd. dash (the Fastest Pirate Award), the 3-Cone drill (Agility Award), the Shuttle drill (Shuttle Master Award), the broad jump (Bullfrog Award), and the bench press (Strongest Pirate Award). A final award is given to the best overall performance (the Combine King). This Combine's awards were won by, from left to right, Lucas Arnzen (Shuttle Master Award), Westin Crenshaw (Fastest Big-man Award), Derik Shears (Rookie Award), Isaiah Shears (Fastest Pirate Award, Strongest Pirate Award, Agility Award, and the Combine King), and Jake Bruner (Bullfrog Award). Practice for the Pirates begins Monday, Aug. 19th, at 7:00 pm. Remember to come out and support the team as they take on Salmon River for their first game in September!
