Mary’s Hospital to Sponsor Haunted 5K & Poker Run
Does the thought of running a 5K scare you? You may have a reason to be scared when participating in the St. Mary’s Haunted 5K & Poker Run; watch out for ‘spooks’ along the way. The Haunted 5K & Poker Run will be held on October 2nd, registration is a 6:00pm and the race starts at 6:30pm. Registration will be in the front parking lot of the new Prairie Elementary School. The course will begin in front of the school on East Street and will continue on Butler St then a left on1st St another left on Jenny St and then back to East St. If you want to complete the 5K you will need to run/walk this course 7 times. Poker cards will be given out on each lap, with a chance to exchange cards on the 6th and 7th lap. Prizes will be given to the best Poker Hand along with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. A random drawing will also be held at the end of the race. Cost is $16 with a shirt and $10 without a shirt; entry forms must be in by September 26th if you would like a t-shirt. Children 12 and under are free unless they would like a shirt and then they would also have to pay the $16 registration fee. Entries will be accepted until the day of the race, but those entries will not be able to receive a shirt. Registration forms will be at the front desk of the hospital and also the Cottonwood Clinic or you can call Trina Geis at 962-3251 to register. Proceeds from this event will go towards the HOSA program. Come on out and have a “wicked good time”. |
