Westhoff
is employee of the month
Kyle Westhoff, DPT was chosen as the October Employee of the Month for St. Mary’s Hospital. Kyle began working for SMH in October of 2012. “He has been such a huge asset to SMH,” commented a co-worker. “Kyle is a joy to work with; nobody is a stranger to him. He is so good with our patients; they really love and respect him. He goes the extra mile to make sure they get the care they need.” When asked why he decided to go into physical therapy Kyle replied, “Physical therapy has such a broad scope of practice; you see something different every day, that’s what makes it fun and challenging. I’ve seen patients as young as 6 months and as old has 103.” “Helping people have less pain is always a good thing, but teaching people ways to help themselves through specific exercises, activity modifications and work modifications is really what physical therapy is all about,” explained Kyle when asked what he likes the most about his job. “I like empowering patients, often all it takes is a little education and you can really help people do things without pain.” Kyle received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education-Sports Science from the University of Idaho and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University. He also received training in Selective Functional Movement Assessment in 2013. Kyle graduated from Prairie High School. When not working, Kyle enjoys skiing, camping, coaching baseball and supporting the Prairie Pirates. Kyle and his wife, Whitney live in Greencreek, Idaho. |
