Center sponsoring 3-week workshop
The Hope Center is sponsoring a free 3-week workshop series in November for parents and guardians of teenagers and pre-teens. The series is called Running the Rapids: Guiding Teenagers through the Turbulent Waters of Adolescence. It will be held on three successive Sunday afternoons (beginning this Sunday): November 3, 10 and 17, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Soltman Center on Main Street in Grangeville (across from Syringa Hospital). The video series features Dr. Kevin Leman, internationally-known psychologist, family counselor, author and speaker who has appeared on The View, Today, Oprah, The Early Show, CNN, Fox & Friends, Good Morning America, and more. Topics include: Know the River: What’s So Scary about Adolescence Anyway? Know the Raft: Home is Where You Transfer the Values that Teenagers Need Know the Riders: What is Acceptable and Unacceptable Teenage Behavior and Why? Know the Risks: Tough Questions That Deserve Straight Answers Know the Relationships: Practical Guidelines for Surviving the Trip Together Know the Reality: You Don’t Have to Navigate the River of Adolescence Alone Handouts accompany the videos, with discussion following.
